Grant programme Translate Ukraine 2025

The Translate Ukraine is a state program of the Ukrainian Book Institute aimed at supporting the translation of works of Ukrainian literature into other languages.

The program’s goal is to increase the visibility of Ukraine and Ukrainian literature in the international cultural space, to enhance the recognition of Ukrainian authors’ voices abroad, and to ensure foreign readers’ access to works of Ukrainian literature.

Applications were accepted from January 6, 2025, to February 10, 2025.

In 2025, the expert council of the Translate Ukraine program, implemented by the Ukrainian Book Institute, approved the list of winning projects — a total of 81. This is the number of Ukrainian literary works planned to be translated into foreign languages with UBI’s support in 2025.

This year, we received 161 applications, of which 28 did not pass the technical selection stage.
