Grant programme Translate Ukraine

Translate Ukraine is a grant programme of the Ukrainian Book Institute which compensates part expenses of the publisher on the translation and publishing of the Ukrainian literature in a foreign language with funds from the state budget of Ukraine.

The goal of the program is to increase the visibility of Ukraine and Ukrainian literature in the international cultural space, increase the recognition of the voices of Ukrainian authors abroad, and ensure access to works of Ukrainian literature for foreign readers.

Translate Ukraine started working at the Ukrainian Book Institute in 2020. Since then, 251 translations of Ukrainian books into different languages of the world have been published within the program. The full list of publications supported by Translate Ukraine is here. We add that in 2022, the program could not be implemented due to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The program was launched in 2020 and was held three times.
