Ukraine is to present its national stand at the Vilnius Book Fair (Lithuania) which is to take place on February 23–26. It is the largest book fair in the country, currently hosting over 70 thousand Ukrainians forced to leave Ukraine due to the russian military aggression, as well as the largest one among Baltic states. The Stand 3.F02 with the total area of 25 square meters and its equipment for the exhibition of books have been provided by the following organizers: Litexpo Lithuanian exhibition center, The Lithuanian Culture Institute and The Lithuanian Publishers Association. In order to organize the stand and develop the Ukrainian program for the event the following institutions have joined their efforts: The Ukrainian Book Insitute, The Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Lithuania, The Book Arsenal, The Lithuanian Culture Institute, the Pictoric Illustrators Club and the Art Studio Agrafka.

The Ukrainian stand at the Vilnius Book Fair gives the opportunity to thank citizens and authorities of the friendly country for their active support of Ukraine since the first day of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, the first anniversary of which falls on one of the days of the fair. The slogan of the Ukrainian stand “Persistence of Being” is about the efforts all of us, together with foreign partners, are making for our joint victory over the aggressor. We have no doubt that with the help of the Ukrainian stand at the Vilnius Book Fair, Ukrainian publishers will be able to strengthen their ties with Lithuanian colleagues and establish long and productive cooperation to publish Ukrainian authors in Lithuania and vice versa. Meanwhile Ukrainians having found shelter in Lithuania will have an opportunity to find Ukrainian books here,” says Oleksandra Koval, director of the Ukrainian Book Institute.
